뭐 하는 서비스냐구요?
대학생들이 한학기에 수강하는 과목중에는 팀별로 주어지는 과제를 수행해야 하는 경우가 발생합니다. 팀단위로 주어지는 과제를 하다보면 힘든 일이 많이 생기죠. 우선 팀원들끼리 단합의 문제입니다. 서로 커뮤니케이션이 안된다거나 같이 만날 시간을 조율하는데 어려움을 겪기 마련이죠. 그 뿐입니까? 프리라이더(Free-Rider)가 항상 생겨서 밉지만 어쩔 수 없는... 서로에 대한 평가도 잘 안되고 결국 묻어가는 사람이 최종 승자가 되는 경우도 많죠.
그래서 저희는 이런 생각을 했습니다. 시간과 공간의 벽을 넘어서 팀프로젝트를 진행할 수 없을까? 혹은 플리라이더를 좀 없앨 수는 없을까? 원래 인터넷이란 것이 원거리에 있는 대학교 연구실간에 협업의 매체로 사용했던 것 아니겠습니까?
이런 니즈(Needs)가 있어서인지 요즘 대학생들은 카페나 클럽 등을 개설해서 서로 커뮤니케이션을 하더군요. 그러나 카페나 클럽에서는 협업을 하기에는 모자란 부분들이 많다는 생각이 들었습니다. 그래서 시간과 공간의 벽을 넘어 프로젝트 팀원들과 커뮤니케이션 할 수 있는 서비스를 만들어보기로 했습니다.
2007년 7월달 즈음이었을까요? 처음으로 이런 생각들이 얘기가 되었고 그 결과 같이 함께 서비스를 만들어보자고 사내에서 몇명이 모였습니다. 같이 회의실에 모여 앉아 기획도 같이 하고 디자인도 같이 리뷰하면서 2008년 4월 1일날 드디어 베타 버전을 출시할 수 있었습니다.
아직도 팀프로젝트 서비스에는 많은 버그들과 사용자들이 불편해 할 수 있는 요소들이 남아 있습니다. 이 모든 것은 사용자들과 커뮤니케이션 해 가면서 풀아갈 것이고 최적화된 온라인 협업 사이트로 자리잡는 그날까지 최선을 다 해 보려고 합니다.
